Supakorn Wongsumdang, also known as “Tang,” is a Thai pianist and composer whose work spans both performance and behind-the-scenes roles in music production. His practice blends classical performance with contemporary composition, sound design, and music creation for video games, advertisements, and modern ensembles.
Tang began his musical journey at the age of 9 with classical guitar, before transitioning to piano—a shift that led him to study at the College of Music, Mahidol University, from pre-college through to a Bachelor’s degree in Music Composition. His piano and compositional training includes mentorship under esteemed teachers such as Eri Higashide, Dr. Eri Nakagawa, Bakhtiyor Allaberganov, Judy Bozone, and Tyler Capp.
In 2014, he won First Prize in the Thailand Steinway Youth Piano Competition (Concerto Category), which led to a performance of Scriabin’s Piano Concerto with the Bangkok Charity Orchestra at the Siam Kempinski Hotel.
Today, Tang teaches piano while continuing to compose and experiment with music in both traditional and contemporary formats—bridging genres, media, and worlds.
